When Harry Met Sally (1989)

Posted in Midnight Movie Club by - June 16, 2010

Due to unforeseen circumstances (he couldn’t be bothered to watch the movie) Lee was absent from this podcast and dan was joined instead by Ian from Single Parent Dad and Justin from JJ Daddy-O

And also due to Dan’s complete and utter incompetency the “record” button wasn’t pressed during the hour long discussion of the film, and so all that remains is this sorry excuse for a podcast.

So this 11 minutes is all we have for you this week I’m afraid.

We promise we’ll do better next week. Maybe.

Next week it’s 1980′s classic, Flash Gordon

By day Dan works as a community psychiatric nurse. By night he mainly sleeps. But when he's not doing either of those two things he does a bit of gardening, walking, and movie watching. However mainly he wastes time tinkering on the internet. He lives in Yorkshire, England with his wife, three children, and a flock of megalomaniac chickens.

geez, I can’t believe you let me talk with such a hot mike. I hate when that happens. It sounds like I’m shouting at you guys. But I had fun anyway.

    • @JJ Daddy-O, it didn’t sound that way to me, just the recording software. I tried to level it out, but it didn’t work. another failure!

      • @Dan, I didn’t feel you were shouting. It was more lecture esq.

Actually for me, Dan’s screw up couldn’t have happened during a better week. I’ve got a ton of stuff to do, but I still got listen to the entire podcast. Score! I”m sure next week will be better.

    • @scc, we recorded it yesterday, and it’s longer. Better? I don’t know. but it’s longer :)

  • ha ha… see what happens when you go on vacation? Your brain melts.

This was really an elaborate ruse to save face wasn’t it? You really just completely forgot about the podcast and grabbed these guys at random last night because they were both on Skype so you could just have something to put up so it wouldn’t seem like you completely ignored us, your adoring fans.

Well, mildly agreeable fans, anyway. Look, at least we don’t hate you. Well, not much.

    • @Jeff, you caught me.

And you are SO my adoring fan.

  • SG-3

Now I feel obliged to admit I listened!

I listened! There, happy? And I confess that it still managed to get some embarrassing out-loud guffaws out of me!

And another confession to SCC; I occasionally ramp up the play-back speed on my MP-3 player to get through an episode on the way to and from work- don’t worry guys, it doesn’t make you sound like chipmunks!

Now, with an evening free tonight, I shall dig out “Flash Gordon” to prepare myself for listening to next week’s podcast.

@SG-3, I’ll be curious to hear what you think of a ‘current’ viewing of Flash Gordon – I hadn’t seen it for 15 years!

  • I never thought about ramping up my speed on my ipod. That might help me clear the backlog.

Of course I probably won’t be able to understand it, but still.

    • scc

@Dan, Ramping up your ipod speed? How about you master pushing the record button first. You gotta walk before you can run.

      • @scc, oh, that’s harsh!

  • Play and Record Dan, you have to press play and record…

    • @Clair, it’s actually “hijack an record”. I only pressed “hijack”.

      Damnit.

      • @Dan, you mean you weren’t using a tape recorder?

  • It is the twitter feed all over again.
