The Cannonball Run (1981)

As you may recall last week I had simply awful things to say about the Podcast, this week I have awful things to say about the movie! This week’s Breakfast Bar is short and much more good put together. Soon Dan and I will rule the digital airways and you’ll be able to say that you were here when it all started!
Then I shall rule this stinking world with an iron claw of power and…
Perhaps I’ve said too much.
Listen, subscribe and tell everyone.
Regards
Lee
PS: I say one bad word in this week’s podcast, it’s not THE word but it still a naughty word.
Have an iPod or an iPhone or have iTunes installed? Then you should subscribe via the iTunes store!!

I’m surprised classicists such as yourselves did not compare Cannonball to “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World”, an infinitely better example of the “crazy race” genre. (although it is from 1963, so it may fall outside the MidMoClub’s purview).

@JJ Daddy-O, I’m not sure I’ve actually ever even heard of that one, although it does ring a bell.
We’re generally a bit like quantum leap – in that we time travel within our own lifetimes. Although like Quanum leap we can break the rules when it suits us.

Jack Elam (the proctologist) was in a lot of westerns indeed, from Once Upon a Time in the West to the comedic Support your Local *blank* movies. He is a staple of the genre indeed.

@MC, I really need to improve my western knowlege. I love the genre, but have seen far to little classic movies from it.
