After the success of last week Lee, Dan and Arjan pressed ahead to watch the other movies in the Starship Troopers franchise.
- The swearing is back!
- Lee admits to occasionally making bad suggestions
- Arjan “explains” what Starship Troopers 2 is about with his synopsis which runs in at about four minutes over the actual running time of the film.
- Lee does Starship Troopers 3.
- There is a lot of sniggering.
- All military decisions appear to be random.
- Once again Dan injects medieval England into a conversation.
- The acting is bad even by Arjan’s level.
- Lee wistfully thinks about Survivor season 1 for some reason.
- Not enough shootings of Billy’s.
- The subtleties of fixing doors and running over extension cables.
- Lee pitches Starship Troopers 2 as a horror film.
- Why give them crappy guns?!?
- Dan likes Starship Troopers 3 more than 2 because it tries harder.
- Dan, Lee and Arjan once again get to discuss nudity… but not in a good way.
- Lee hates Starship Troopers 3
- A lot.
- Dan and Arjan didn’t hate it AS much.
- Objectification of women in Starship Troopers 3
- The most uncomfortable undressing scenes ever.
- Lee says “boom boom chicky chicky boom boom”
- Lee then defends T’Pol
- Dan defends Casper.
- Matt C wants mechs and he wants them now!!!
- Dan quite likes… nothing to do with this film… giggle.
- Arjan thought the singing was funny.
- Lee did not.
- Dan protected Kerry from the horrors of Troopers 2 and 3
- Dan and Arjan turn on Lee
- Reviewers are idiots.
- Lee and Dan horrify Arjan with The Human Centipede trailer.

Lee, would you be willing to concede that Robocop 3 is better than Starship Troopers 3?
@MC, isn’t that a bit like saying: “malaria is better than smallpox”?
@JJ Daddy-O, I’d be willing to live with that assessment.
@MC, I would happily say that Robocop 3 with all of its failings is a much better film than Starship Troopers 3. In fact I might go as far as to say that TMNT 2… okay maybe lets not get carried away here.
@Lee, I wonder if I could make/get a t-shirt that says ‘support TMNT 2′ just to poke at you

@MC, If I remember rightly I saw Robocop 3 in the cinema and for a long time it held my “worst movie of all time” award for a good number of years. I suspect it may have been worse than the Starship Troopers sequels, but I’m not stupid enough to go find out for sure.
@Dan, if you saw some of the movies I’ve seen, Robocop 3 doesn’t even make the top 100 on my lists.
I’ve even defended it.
The episode isn’t downloading from iTunes. Worse yet, it doesn’t even try to download it. Help?
@Ian, the file is here and working so it must be an iTunes issue – probably so many people downloading it at once on their iPads.
@Ian, in iTunes if you right click (in PC) and select show all episodes it should give you the option to “get” the episode. I checked and I had to force the refresh for some reason?
Try it again and see if it works now.

I only kicked up a stink because I don’t want to be left behind. You’ve no idea how embarrassing it is when all the cool kids are talking about the latest midmoclub episode and I can’t relate.

Click play, you know you want too (and if you don’t want too, click anyway).
@Arjan, I did and it was worth it just for your reaction to the Human Centerpede movie.
@Ian, the trailers are significantly better than the movies, especially the second one as it makes it feel action packed.

I’ve bought an ‘actual’ mp3 player to be able to listen to the Midmo rambles on my way to work. Hell just froze over (I’m keeping my mp3-discman though!).
Cutting in the scenes really added something (although it completely killed my arguments haha).

Yeah… even the trailers above scream “Stay Away!” Still, I think I’d rather watch a Starship Troopers franchise marathon than Human Centipede.
You guys seem surprised that these movies were low budget. I say it restores my faith in studio heads. Even they realized that the first movie was crap and didn’t really deserve follow-up, but it made enough money that they could suck in the converted with a few more shoddy entries.
There’s even a part of the trailer for 3 that looks like legos in stop motion… come to think of it, that might have been a better movie.
I am a fan of Io9 and they asked if there was ever a third movie in a trilogy that didn’t suck… and people are actually suggesting ST3… wow.
