Hurrah it’s the Midnight Movie Club Podcast Christmas special!!!!
This week we’re reviewing that classic yuletide movie Star Trek: Insurrection. You know – that one where Santa goes missing and so Ryker and Picard save Christmas by reversing the polarity of the Jeffries Tubes in order to use the Enterprise to deliver all the presents to the girls and boys.
OK, maybe not.
Due to poor planning and general lack of management we didn’t actually get round to watching a Christmas film this week, and so Star Trek: Insurrection is as good as you are going to get I’m afraid.
There are a some sleigh bells at the beginning of the show however.
So all that’s left to do is wish everyone a Merry Christmas from us here at the Midnight Movie Club. We hope you have a great one.
Here’s the podcast:
We’re unlikely to put out a podcast next week, but we should be able to manage one in the gap between Christmas and the New Year. If all goes to plan we’ll be watching Star Trek: Nemesis we’ll see you then.
Oh and remember – for all your Slaithwaite and Colne Valley Events and News why not visit Dan’s new blog – Slawit.org. You know it makes sense.

hey hey,
thanks for the thanks I am glad you guys enjoyed the “special message” I will try to keep my expectations in check
Seriously Dan is going to crush everyone’s expectations like a grinch.
yup yup. Looking forward to it in fact.
Oh and red dwarf was brilliant, especially the first 2 or 3 seasons. ‘Backwards’ was the best episode and ‘Rimmer World’ was pretty great too. The last couple of seasons were pretty terrible though. There is some new episode coming out in 2012 apparently.
I’m finding the quality is really dropping off in the third season. Which is odd as Kryton is my favorite character and he doesn’t show up much until season 3.
LOL I can’t believe you guys talked about my new boyfriend. I guess that’s karma against me for posting in the Pacy forums that you guys were talking about them in an effort to stir up trouble. Alas, that did not happen. LOL

Big Bang theory has defintily sucked lately. I stopped watching last season. There hasn’t been much good this season. About the only thing I look forward to every week is Once Upon a Time. And that might have problems if they drag the plot points out to much.
I can’t comment on the film because I don’t think I’ve ever watched it. Or if I have I’ve blocked it out of my memory for my own sanity. Data with emotions is pretty freaky though. I’m looking forward to Big Trouble in Little China… less so Star Trek Nemesis. That’s the one with the Picard clone or something right? I vaguely remember the movie being really green?
Anyways, great episode this time around guys. I laughed out loud quite a lot.
I am considering friending your boyfriend on facebook so we can talk about you behind your back.
I agree, I listen to a few other podcasts now(though you guys were my first
) but I don’t regularly laugh out loud as mush as do to this one.
I still catch The Big Bang Theory, it is the same stuff recycled over, but I like it enough to keep watching….and I like the girls side of things that they have now….I could watch a show with just them.
As for the movie…..eh, a really long, but not too great episode…..
I can be considered half from Canada sinc e I’m only 30 minutes away……..except now they require a passport….so no more easy access to Canada for me anymore…..boo.
I’m curious, if we are your first how did you stumble across us?
Also hat other shows do you listen to?
I think I was just doing a random search on itunes for Young Guns, and was curious, so I downloaded it, and you guys made me laugh enough that I just subscribed and started listening to all of them from the beginning.
Now I also listen to the Cast la Vista guys, the Podcast of Ice and Fire(can’t wait for the Game of Thrones dvd to come out!), Dave and Chuck the Freak(local radio show),The Paranormal Podcast, and Trekcast(they aren’t really doing it anymore, but I am still going through old ones).
I do need about 6hrs a day worth of audio to kill my work day, lol.
I did subscribe to Lambcast and Geek tragedy, but have never gotton around to listening to any of them.
Ahh…now I understand. It was my musical performance of the theme that drew you in.
That got weird at the end, didn’t it?
Good weird???
Although we Canadians are polite we are not immune to bribery or blackmail. Maybe a little more Canadian content (e.g. actors, films) on the show may get you guys a favourable review in iTunes. Sure you talked about Joshua Jackson in a film a few weeks ago, not to mention a half a season of William Shatner, but you guys can aim bigger!
Seriously though, hope you guys have a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and a great New Year!
I shall discuss with Mr Hughes the possibility of us watching Wolverine.
